Space Engineering Team

Formerly the CubeSat Development Team, the Space Engineering Team has subsystems in science, systems engineering, and electronics. In this group, JHU students work with industry professionals at the Space Telescope Science Institute, Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, and Instrument Development Group at Johns Hopkins in order to design, build, and launch various engineering projects. Current work involves development of the first student-run ground station at Johns Hopkins to communicate with current satellites, as well as the planned CubeSat to be designed by this team. This ground station will not only communicate with SEDS-designed projects, it will be open to faculty and students for other research purposes and will sit on the roof of the Bloomberg Center for Physics & Astronomy.
